Summary A Moroccan woman is detained at JFK airport in New York days after 9/11 because her husband has the same name as the lead terrorist. During the interrogation, we flashback to Laila Bassir's childhood in Morocco. We follow her through her high school years and her first 2 years of college. Laila moves to the United States where she finishes college. She meets an engineer named Mohammed Atta. They get married and shortly thereafter Laila discovers she is pregnant. Laila and her best friend Kristina make plans to go to New York to shop for maternity clothes. When Laila arrives in New York her horrific ordeal begins. Laila and her husband suffer the effects of having the same name as a terrorist while trying to live a normal life in a tense post 9/11 world
